PREREQUISITES

Pacific Ambulance's Emergency Medical Technician Program is open to both men and women over the age of 18 with a high school diploma or GED, and no criminal background . No prior medical experience is required.

DESCRIPTION

The Emergency Medical Technician Certification is a requirement for both firefighters and ambulance personnel. EMT's work in a variety of industries such as hospital emergency rooms, aerospace, home health care, Dept. of Forestry, law enforcement, medical clinics, Fire Dept.'s, Refineries, and many large corporations, just to name a few. EMT's typically respond to prehospital care emergencies and non emergency type calls. They assist paramedics on 911 calls. They may work on critical care units working with nurses, or they might do medical standby for the motion picture and professional sports industries.
