PACIFIC AMBULANCE TRAINING

Pacific Ambulance’s Training and Education Department takes a proactive leadership role in clinical and education services as we strive to constantly improve our training, education, and quality assurance methods to provide the highest level of care possible to our customers and patients. The Training and Education Department conducts the following courses for our employees: New Hire Orientation, and field training of EMTs, and Paramedics, Assure and Improve the quality of care provided by our staff through rigorous Quality Assurance and Improvement Practices, and offer courses in BLS - CPR, ACLS, PALS, CEVO II, and many more.
Pacific Ambulance was one of the first ambulance companies in Orange County to offer EMT Skills Verification Testing to their employees. In fact, all Pacific Ambulance EMTs/Paramedics have been required to perform monthly skills verification since the company first opened its doors in September 2000.
CPR
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an AED; and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It's intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and pre-hospital.
ACLS
The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), four types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndroms) and stroke.
PALS
The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course is to provide the learner with:
- Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest.
- Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.
- The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.
CEVO II Ambulance Operators
Pacific Ambulance’s CEVO II courses, provides each of our
EMTs, and Paramedics with defensive and safe driving education,
to ensure the highest level of safety and smooth patient transport.
